What kind of church is Mount Olivet?
Hello! We are a growing congregation of the United Methodist Church. We are a people who pray, praise God, and proclaim the Word in worship. Diverse in age, background, and life experience, we strive to be a place for all ages to gather, grow in discipleship, and go out in service.
Mount Olivet United Methodist Church is committed to loving God and loving neighbor with our whole selves – heart, mind, soul, and strength. We believe that all persons are of sacred worth and dignity as part of God’s creation, as demonstrated by the ministry of Jesus Christ. We therefore welcome all persons into the life and ministry of our congregation regardless of race, culture, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or socioeconomic status, education, politics, physical or mental ability or health, or faith history.
What time do services start? And what are they like?
Our traditional services are at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
We have an incredible choir that aids in creating an atmosphere of reverent worship. Visit our Sermons page to listen to recent sermons and hymns.
The Way, our modern worship service is at 11:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall
The Way is generally more casual. We invite you to “come as you are to worship” and join our amazing band in a more modern, emergent style time of worship. You’ll hear music ranging from Hillsong to The Eagles. Enjoy a cup of coffee, grab a bite to eat, and worship as you are. You can learn more about The Way by visiting and liking our Facebook page.
What should I wear?
You’ll see all sorts of attire at our services – some men are in coat and tie but most are in slacks and a polo shirt or sport jacket. Women are in casual dresses or pants. And many of our youth are in jeans.
Is there childcare?
If you have an infant or toddler, nursery care is available for infants through age 3 all morning. Programming for children 3 and up is available at our late morning services.
