Christmas for Others
Join us in making a special Christmas for 11 immigrant families. The Giving Tree is up, the gift tags are waiting. This year we will again be helping La Cocina VA culinary students and their families. The Advent Offering lets us buy additional gifts that are needed, like food, diapers and warm clothing. Christmas for Others: it’s a Mount Olivet holiday tradition.
La Cocina VA
Help provide a path from poverty for neighbors here in northern Virginia. Hosted in Mount Olivet’s kitchen and classrooms, La Cocina’s has empowered 50 students with culinary training and job placement in secure good paying jobs. Along with receiving English and career readiness instruction, each class cooks 3000 nutritional meals that are donated to low-income families in the area. Your generosity will help sustain this inspiring program, extend healthy affordable food options to at-risk populations, and offer a helping hand up to these dedicated students.
Friends of Guest House
Friends of Guest House works to provide women the structure, supervision, support and assistance they need to transition successfully from incarceration—becoming self-sufficient and responsible members of the community.
