June 11 | Ciclon Y Su Combo
Ciclon Y Su Combo (Ciclon for short) is an exciting new Washington based Latin band. Our focus is a variety of traditional and contemporary Afro-Caribbean dance music, including Pre-Salsa Cuban songs, Dominican Merengues, Colombian Cumbias, and a sprinkling of Calypso and Venezuelan tunes.
July 16 | The Buzz Hounds
Get ready for The Buzz Hounds, voted Arlington’s Best Band! (Fun Fact: Two of the band members call Mount Olivet home.) The Buzz Hounds are a 4-piece band based out of Arlington, Virginia on a constant mission to add a good buzz to any kind of get-together. House parties, pool parties, block parties, happy hours, soirees, shindigs, hoe-downs, shebangs…whatever the festivity, they’re happy to help kick it up a notch.
August 13 | The Lovejoy Blues Machine
The Lovejoygroup is a versatile ensemble serving up energetic jazz, funky blues and smooth Latin rhythms. Karen Lovejoy, vocalist and bandleader, fronts the group. Lovejoy migrated from the Midwest where she began singing contemporary ballads, rhythm&blues and top 40. However, when she discovered jazz, she found a home. The freedom to reinterpret music at a whim, turning a tune inside out, and choosing generous lyrics, appealed to her expansive spirit.
