As many of you are aware, Linnea, our Director of Children’s and Family Ministries, and Marta, her daughter, were involved in a serious automobile accident while visiting Betty, the child she is hoping to adopt in Uganda. Marta escaped injury, but Linnea will require surgery. Her physician in Uganda recommends she return to the U.S. as soon as possible for surgery. Thanks to some very generous saints, that medivac has been fully paid for and Linnea and Marta should be home this weekend. Once Linnea and Marta return we anticipate there will be many additional expenses during Linnea’s recovery.

Mount Olivet United Methodist Church is seeking donations to our Pastor’s Discretionary Fund. Donations are fully tax-deductible. Amounts raised by this fund have been used historically to assist individuals and families in need and for other purposes that are identified by the Senior Pastor. Over the past 10 years, more than 230 individuals and organizations have received support from the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund for everything from help with rent to paying for necessary prescription drugs. The timing, recipients, and amounts of all distributions from this fund are solely at the discretion of the Senior Pastor. The church is not permitted to accept any donations to this fund that are earmarked for a specific individual or organization.

If you wish to make a tax-deductible gift to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, but which cannot be earmarked, and which may be used now or in the future for one or more needs identified by the Senior Pastor, you may do so by clicking below.

One thing all of us can do in the meantime is continue to pray for Linnea, Marta, Betty, Linnea’s family and the many medical professionals involved in Linnea’s care.
