Mount Olivet is excited to welcome La Cocina (www.lacocinava.org), a new bilingual culinary training program co-sponsored by Grace Ministries. The 13-week program equips immigrants in our community with the skills they need to obtain entry-level jobs in restaurants and food service.      Each day the culinary students prepare meals that are donated to low income families in our community. For more information email us at patyfunegra@lacocinava.org.

United States Senator Tim Kaine visited with La Cocina students and helped out in the kitchen on April 7, 2015. You can read about his visit at ArlNow.com or on El Tiempo Latino. Sen. Kaine also spoke about the program on Fox 5 news. Below are photos, courtesy Jim Coates, from the Senator’s visit.
