Celebrate the Opening of the New Fire Station 8

During the Jim Crow era, the all-Black firemen of Station 8, serving the historically Black neighborhood of Halls Hill, had to contend with hand-me-down equipment, underfunding and other discrimination. For years, the firemen persevered, supported by their tight-knit Halls Hill community. Now help celebrate the opening of a brand new Station 8, on Langston Blvd. about 3/4 mile from Mount Olivet. Saturday, April 26; 4845 Langston Blvd. Ceremony at 10 am, Open House 11:30-2:30 pm RSVP requested. No onsite parking. Please carpool or use rideshare.
