The History Team will be hosting Holley Smith Green on Sunday afternoon, March 16 at 3:00 in room L8. She will talk about her father, Rev. James Roy Smith, who served Mount Olivet longer than any senior minister to date (1957-1973.) His pastorate marked the high water mark in church participation. In the mid-1960’s worship attendance topped 960 with 430 adults and children attending Sunday school. One hundred people sang in the 4 church choirs and 100 young people gathered on Sunday night for MYF. She will also recount her coming home late after her father’s curfew and entering through a 2nd floor window by climbing up the trellis that still exists on the parsonage porch. You will not want to miss this engaging talk about our Mount Olivet history. Reserve Your Spot
