Recently the adult leaders of our youth ministry met and developed a list of values by which we will work to build, grow, and shape our programs and culture. You can review them below. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Sam Riedel. This list will be reviewed at the beginning of each school year.
- The Church is the place where God’s grace is available to everyone. We believe that a community founded in Christ welcomes all.
- We begin with encouragement. In a world of competition, criticism, and misplaced values our community is dedicated to uplifting and affirmation.
- Authenticity is the best way to live. Self-awareness and an honest engagement of our vulnerabilities is the only way to live in freedom and peace.
- Service is at the heart of discipleship. Jesus’ commandment to love and serve our neighbor guides all that we do.
- Be Curious, not Judgmental. Approaching people where they are, asking questions, and listening to all voices is the most fruitful way to be in ministry.
- Prayer and worship are foundational to the life of a disciple. Making regular time for spiritual practices is restorative, life-affirming, and sanctifying.
- Change is non-negotiable. To everything there is a season. Life together involves living in the moment but also shepherding new things into being as well as grieving the loss of what was or has been.
- Life should be lived joyfully. We are created in love and given endless blessings so that we might live fully and joyfully. Games, laughter, sport, and events are a gift of God.
